CLAAS today announced that it has officially received all necessary permits for the construction and operation of a new multifunctional production facility at its Le Mans plant. The €6.5 million investment confirms the company's long-term commitment to the region and its key role in the CLAAS global production network.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Stéphane Le Folle, Mayor of Le Mans and former French Minister of Agriculture, emphasised that CLAAS has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the region over the years: "CLAAS has been investing in Le Mans for decades, creating high-quality, stable jobs and strengthening the local industrial structure. The company is an example of sustainable growth and international competitiveness."

In the discussion: Stéphane Le Folle (Mayor of Le Mans), Thomas Spearing (CLAAS Chief Operating Officer (COO)) and Etienne Bourassa (Le Mans Site Manager / Vice President Production).

Global growth thanks to the tractor division

As part of the investment project, CLAAS plans to expand the production capacity of its Le Mans tractor plant. This expansion is a crucial step in preparing the facility for the expected growth in production over the next ten years.

Thomas Spearing, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the CLAAS Group, said: "Le Mans is the heart of our global tractor business. We have proven this by investing more than €80 million in the transformation of this site. The investment in our new production facility is an important milestone in our expansion of production capacity."

CLAAS has been operating its tractor plant in Le Mans, France, as well as facilities in Tranges and Velise since 2003. Since then, the company has produced more than 200,000 tractors for the global market. The company currently produces tractors with an output of 75 to 450 hp, including the ARION 660 CMATIC, which was shortlisted for the Tractor of the Year 2025.

Completion of construction - by the end of 2026

Multifunctional production complex with an area of 3,800 m2 is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. This will optimise logistics, strengthen vertical integration, reduce costs and improve quality.
